Until We Are Free. My Fight for Human Rights in Iran, by Shirin Ebadi
Shirin Ebadi was the first Muslim woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for her work as a human right lawyer defending women and children against a brutal regime in Iran.
The Islamic Republic tried to intimidate Ebadi for years, they wiretapped Ebadi’s phones, bugged her law firm, sent spies to follow her, harassed her colleagues, detained her daughter. They took everything from her -her marriage, friends and even her Nobel Prize- but they couldn’t steal her spirit to fight the injustice of a blind system.
This is the story of courage and dedication of an incredible woman who would never give up on a country she loves so deeply, a story that have inspired a nation and hopefully will inspire you to find the courage to stand up for your beliefs.
